Diadem Sea Turtle: Diadem Mare Turtures

This majestic animal is seen rarely and when it is it is observed only on Atlantic beaches. These occurances do not seem to be timed with
the phases of the moon as with other marine turtles and as yet scientists know nothing of their mating habits, diet or migratory patterns.
What is even more puzzling are the crystalline growths on their shells which give the turtles their name.
What is known are the conditions and time associated with the growth of such crystals giving a startling glimpse into the Diadem’s potential longevity.
